Ships are largely variable in terms of size, typology, destination.
Even among ships of same type every one else is substantially
different.
The differences are also influencing the communication needs
of each ship.
This is one of the reasons why IMCOS is designed with
an “open architecture” in mind.
The system modular structure and the reprogrammable processors
have been expressly designed with the target of total adaptability
to all the possible different ship needs.
This makes it possible for us to build a system exactly tailored
to a small cargo without any useless additions, but also allows
us to design an IMCOS totally complying with the sophisticated
needs of a super cruiser without any compromise, if this is
the customer request.
The IMCOS modular concept optimizes the system cost
too, there are no useless redundancies, no unusable sections,
no empty rack spaces whatsoever, out of the specific ship
necessities.
