On board a ship, IMCOS takes care of all the internal communication
needs, they become sections of the IMCOS system.
The IMCOS configuration is customized and tailored to
the needs of each ship.
A typical IMCOS configuration would include a number of basic
sections as:
General & Fire alarm Public Address
Ship service intercoms Automatic telephones Radio
& TV signals distribution network Surveillance CCTV
Engine room signal columns Computer data network
Other various optional sections as: music channels distribution,
automatic messaging, passenger info system, etc.
All the IMCOS sections are governed by redundant processors,
controlling and monitoring
the overall system performances.
The system design reflects all the International Rules
in force for Ship safety and the IMCOS solutions have
been submitted to the type approval tests of all the major Ship
Classification Societies in the world as: BV, CCS, DNV, GL,
LR, RINA.
There are many significant details that make the difference
with IMCOS:
Cabinets: the IMCOS racks are designed in-house, they
allow easy access to the interior without removing any of the
components, they allow easy and clean ship cable connections,
efficient ventilation, vibration resistant installation.
The rack lower double framed doors are an exlusive patented
design of Gitiesse (patent N° 2003A000111) allowing
the easiest access to the terminal strips by the shipyard installators,
for substantial time saving and error free connections.
The racks are available in light alloy, offering a significant
wheight saving (2\3 less).
The System accessories: IMCOS peripherals and
accessories like speakers, telephones, control panels, TVcc
camera housings etc etc are mostly designed in-house.
This allows a true harmonic coordinated performance of all the
system sections without compromises and useless redundancies.
This is IMCOS.
